Team Captain Samuel Eto’o has scored two goals against Togo’s one goal to give the indomitable Lions an emphatic victory in day three of 2014 world cup qualifier.
The Anzhi striker scored at the penalty box 3 minutes before half time and a long drive from 20 yards as Cameroon beat Togo to land them on six points in group I.
Eto’o Ready for More Goals
The boys of coah Jean Paul Akono knew that they needed the victory to keep their hopes of qualifying high. Togo played without Emmanuel Adebayo and goalkeeper Agassa, but their team was good.Their lone goal was scored by Dave Wome at 45th minutes.
Cameroon squad was boosted by Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto’s presence who made his first appearance for Cameroon since 2010 when he turned his back on the team because of his concerns about the national set-up.Cameroons next game comes up in the weekend of 07-11/06/13: Togo v Cameroon; Libya v DR Congo in group I.
Cameroon, who have not played at the last two African Nations Cups, have six points from three games, two ahead of second-placed Libya, who face the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday. Togo have a solitary point.
