The nil-nil draw Sunday between the Indomitable lions of Cameroon and the Leopards of DR Congo has rekindled the lions hopes of qualification to the play-off.
The two teams put-up a fomidable outing at the matyres stadium to try stopping Libya who lie first in group I with 9 points.
Cameroon therefore needs a victory against the Libyans in September for a smooth transition to the next round of africas Wolrd Cup qualifiers.
DR Congo is already out of the race even if they beat Togo in their last game.The battle now is between Cameroon and Libya in group I.
Meanwhile Fifa has announced that the draw for the third and final round of African World Cup qualifiers will be made on 16 September 2013.
The Confederation of African Football will host the draw in Cairo.
The matches will take the form of two-legged play-offs, with the aggregate winners going through to Brazil 2014.
Fifa has also stated that the five best-placed sides in the world rankings, as of 12 September 2013, will be seeded for the draw.
The first legs of the play-offs will be played between 11-15 October 2013, while the second and decisive ties will take place on 15-19 November 2013.
The second round of qualifying is currently reaching its climax across Africa, with the penultimate round of matches taking place this weekend ahead of the final round in September.
