The first Vice president of the Cameroon Football Federation,John Begheni Ndeh has issued a press release Tuesday night declearing the June 19 Elective General assembly Null and Void.
The first Vice president argues that he is the ligitimate person to take over the position of president according to article 29 and 39 of its statutes after outgoing president Iya Mohammed is been held in prison.
The fact that the elective General Assembly has been convened by the third Vice president is a gross disrespect of the constitution,Ndeh bemaoned.
Cameroon is now in an election farce,haven postponed it twice.Interesting to know is that detained Cameron FA boss Iya Mohammed will contest in absencia.
Cameroon FA (Fecafoot) president Iya Mohammed will still stand for re-election on Wednesday despite being detained.
Mohammed is being held in connection with alleged financial mis-management at the country’s state-owned Cotton Development Company, of which he is director general.
He was first arrested on 10 June as he returned from watching Cameroon lose 2-0 in Togo in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.
Fecafoot has indicated Mohammed has authorised his third vice-president Alim Konate to represent him during the elections.
The other two candidates for the top job at Fecafoot are John Begheni Ndeh, the former Transport Minister and Marlene Emvoutou.
Fecafoot has twice delayed the elections recently, they were first suspended on 24 May for “security reasons” and then again postponed from 11 June.
